About this Project
County Wicklow is an exceptionally verdant and beautiful area of a country renowned for its natural splendor. Nestled along the famous Wicklow Way, The Wilderness Lodge is a sanctuary for anyone looking to get away or wander through medieval monastic sites or the green hills of Ireland.
This project was another dream come for us. I (Steve) met Frank Quinn when I documented him and his three brothers running the New York City marathon. After completing the race, which was an impressive task for a guy in his is eighties, we all sat down to a pint (or six) and discussion drifted towards the Wilderness Lodge, which he ran with his wife, Maura. Plans were cooked up and before you know it we were on a plane to Ireland to spend a week wandering through hills full of heather and capturing beautiful footage. This place is truly a dream.
*Update: Frank Quinn passed away in April, 2020 surrounded by friends and family. His wife Maura continues to manage The Wilderness Lodge.
