About this Project
This was our second project working with StepUp Durham. They provide job training, placement and life skills and specifically work with individuals who have had struggles to maintaining employment. Their motto is to help participants work, grow and thrive and they provide different types of programming to best help participants reach the goal of being independent and successful.
In our first project Deepening Community Roots we created a general overview of the organization and it's mission. For this second video, StepUp wanted to structure the story around the different programs they provide to help people work grow and thrive. Where we previously saw people beginning their journey towards independence with StepUp, in this project we featured individuals who have maintained their employment for many years and continue to thrive due to the foundation StepUp helped provide. We also spoke with people from Duke University, one of the largest employers in North Carolina and the largest employer of StepUp participants.
We love working with organizatios like StepUp. Few things are more transformative to a person's life than getting and maintaining a Job. Our goal is always to feature real people telling their individual, human stories. StepUp was a great partner and we collaborated to identify individual stories of participants to illustrate the work of the organization.
