UNC Addiction Medicine | N.C. Star Network
Client: UNC Addiction Medicine Program
About the Project
As the opioid epidemic continues to rage across the United States, it claims the lives of North Carolinians every day. To address this issue, the University of North Carolina’s Addiction Medicine program—which is an initiative of the School of Medicine’s Psychiatry school—is assembling the N.C. Star Network. Through uniting three main “hubs”, which provide acute care, training, fellows and other resources, with dozens of community health centers—or “spokes”—the Network aims to provide access to lifesaving addiction treatment across the entire state.
We really love supporting the work of the UNC Addiction Medicine Program and this was our second collaboration with them. In 2021, we produced a video promoting their Fellowship program (video linked below), which recruits physicians, psychiatrists and other health professionals to spend a year learning about and treating patients with addiction disorders. After the success of that project, the UNCAMP reached out to us to create a video to promote their work as a whole with a focus on the N.C. Star Network. In addition to filming the staff of dedicated professionals at the UNC Addiction Medicine program in Chapel Hill, N.C., we also traveled to rural health clinics and interviewed former patients—hearing firsthand how the work of the UNCAMP very literally saved their lives.
