Project U.S.E.
50-mile Hike Challenge
For over 15 years, Project U.S.E. has organized a 50-mile hike to raise funds for connecting underserved youth in Newark, N.J. with the outdoors. We were commissioned by Project U.S.E. to film a hike and create a promo they could use in advance of future hikes. Footage from the hike was also incorporated into a promo video.

Celebrating Women Breakfast 2019
The Celebrating Women Breakfast is an event you want to remember. With celebrity keynote speakers like Cyndi Lauper, Gloria Steinem and Hillary Clinton, the New York Women's Foundation packs the largest ballroom in New York City during an annual gathering that is an inspiration and a significant source of funding. For four years running, Root Media has been commissioned to film the breakfast in its entirety while also delivering a condensed highlights video.
United Service Organizations
Operation That's My Dress
As part of the USO's mission of strengthening America's military service members, they put on the event, Operation That's My Dress, which gives military teens, female service members and spouses the chance to pick out a brand new gown or cocktail dress from some of the most recognizable names in fashion. Root Media was commissioned to document an Operation and create a highlights video emphasizing the fun and excitement of attending the event.
Lupus Foundation of America
Walk to End Lupus Now
Every year, the Lupus Foundation of America organizes dozens of Walk to End Lupus Now events that provide people affected by lupus and their families with the opportunity to come together for one purpose: ending lupus. Root Media was commissioned to film a walk and create a highlights video, which has been used for several years on the Walk's main web page.

Promo Video
We've been proud to work with the New York Women's Foundation for several years, documenting many of their events on video and in photos. Root Media was commissioned to create a promo for the foundation that was shown at other NYWF events. We did this by using our archive of footage, as well as archival material provided by the NYWF.

Artworks Express Yourself is a visual and performing arts exhibition hosted annually that celebrates young artists and showcases the full-breadth of creative programs offered by ArtWorks in one awe-inspiring day. Root Media was commissioned to film the 2018 event and deliver a highlights video as well as breakout videos of individual performers.

Art Auction and Benefit Gala
Artworks provides arts programming for chronic pediatric patients and they host an annual art auction and benefit to raise funds. Root Media was commissioned to film the event and deliver a highlights video of one of the benefits.

Baseball as Good Medicine
Baseball as Good Medicine is a live, competitive storytelling event about the amazing, magical, mysterious healing qualities of baseball. They have a changing line-up of unique storytellers from doctors to writers to rabbis, and a distinguished panel of judges. Root Media was hired to film and event and deliver a highlights video of the best moments of the day.
StepUp Durham
Impact 2020: A Virtual Event
In March 2020, StepUp Durham had to abruptly cancel an annual fundraising luncheon due to the COVID-19 health pandemic. To replace their live event, StepUp commissioned Root Media to create a virtual event by filming their speakers, which could be done from a safe distance, and combining the speaker footage with a promo video we had already produced for them. The event was embedded in their website and debuted on the same date as the original luncheon.

ReCity Network
Roundtable: The Art of Justice
The ReCity Network in Durham, N.C. fosters community, connection and conversation in addition to providing office space for its members. As part of that goal, ReCity hosted a series of ReCity Roundtables, each with a different theme. We were commissioned to film the events and deliver a full-length video as well as breakout videos of each set of speakers.

Triangle Rising Stars
Hosted annually by the Durham Performing Arts Center in Durham, N.C., Triangle Rising Stars (TRS) celebrates outstanding achievement in high school musical theater in North Carolina. The program focuses attention on the meaningful work being done both on and off stage by dedicated teachers and students. The TRS program is a member of The National High School Musical Theater Awards (NHSMTA)—also known as the Jimmy Awards—a national program that unites high school musical theater awards programs from across the country. The Best Actor and Actress of Triangle Rising Stars will compete virtually against the winners from dozens of regional competitions and similar awards programs from other parts of the country, drawing from 1,000 high schools nationwide.
